A ‘mobile first’ approach to business is putting one of the UK’s leading telecommunications and cloud providers on course for a record year.

Pure Cloud Solutions, which has offices in Tamworth and Clydebank in Scotland, has won a string of new contracts from companies looking to support remote working in the wake of Covid-19, with turnover set to increase by 20% to £5.4million.

Demand for the company’s fully managed service, incorporating Telephony, Cloud, IT Networks, Security Solutions and Disaster Recovery, has increased rapidly with clients ranging from Birmingham City Football Club and Electrium to the Royal Shakespeare Company and SPS Aerospace.

Working with its business advisors and accountants Haines Watts, the management team is now proactively targeting a number of acquisitions that will deliver complementary services and market penetration in new geographic areas.

“We are taking on companies ten times our size and winning new contracts because clients want bespoke solutions and not an ‘off-the-shelf’ option.”

explained Jamie Lake, Managing Director of Pure Cloud Solutions.

Jamie Lake, MD of Pure Cloud Solutions

“Investment in the latest software and infrastructure means we can deliver exactly what businesses need and this has been evident during the pandemic when our expertise in ‘mobile first solutions’ has really come into its own.”

He continued:

“Companies now need to be able to facilitate more home working and our Unified Communications Anywhere (UCA) app allows you to have all of your landline calls securely directed to mobiles anywhere in the world – ideal for creating a multi-site appearance.”

Pure Cloud Solutions, which was founded in 2012 by brothers Darren and Martin Lake, has enlisted the support of Haines Watts to help it manage recent growth and help it plan for a new acquisition drive.

This relationship has been extremely beneficial, with the Birmingham-based business advisers delivering full accountancy, tax, VAT and shareholder advice, not to mention access to the specialist Haines Watts Business Law team.

It has also been responsible for securing more than £125,000 of R&D Tax Claims Relief over the last two years, typifying the innovative work Pure Cloud Solution has completed in cloud technology and app development.

Jamie, who started life as an Apprentice Engineer at the company back in 2012, went on to add:

“We are on a very steep growth curve and, as a SME, we don’t have access to all the knowledge we need in-house…this is why we need a trusted partner like Haines Watts to help guide us on our journey.

“The support we have received has been fantastic, a lot of which has been given off-the-clock as we look to quickly make the most of new opportunities in front of us. In addition to assistance with the core needs of auditing, tax and VAT planning, we have also been able to access a network of owner-managed companies who are now using our services and technology.”

Andrew Jones, Partner at Haines Watts’ Birmingham office, continued:

“Pure Cloud Solutions is exactly the type of business we can help thrive and we have invested a lot of time getting to know the management team and how we can support its growth.

“The next step on this journey will be advising on the possibility of future acquisitions, including corporate due diligence, shareholder agreements and overseeing Sales Purchase Agreements through our partners at Haines Watts Business Law.

“We’ve seen first-hand the difference its products can make, with Haines Watts using the app to ensure we have remained operational throughout the different lockdowns.”

With Pure Cloud Solutions on course for 20% growth this year, the company is currently looking to recruit three new people to cover a combination of administration and sales roles.
